Peer Me Up's Pokémon GO Day

Join Peer Me Up in a playing the virtual reality game Pokémon GO!
What is Pokémon GO?
The game, Pokémon GO, allows for people to travel between the real world & the virtual world of Pokémon. Pokémon GO gives players the opportunity to explore real locations & search for Pokémon.
As you move around the places where you will visit, your device will vibrate to let you know when you're near a Pokémon. Once you have encountered a Pokémon, take aim on your smartphone's touch screen & throw a e Ball to catch it! Also look for PokéStops where you can collect more PokéBalls & other items.
When:
The activity will be held from 12pm to 3pm on Monday the 28th of June, 2021.
Where:
Participants will meet at Peer Me Up's Stone Cottage & will then walk around the streets of Richmond catching Pokémon.
Regular breaks will be taken, including a lunch break in the park
Who:
Participants must be between the ages of 12-18. Two participants will engage in the activity together whilst also being accompanied by one of our Peers. It is recommended that those who chose to participate in this activity must be physically fit or capable as it will involve lots of walking, with regular breaks of course.
Skill Development / Outcomes:
Those who engage in this activity will develop & strengthen various skills, including:
- social skills
- cooperation
- communication
- navigation
- community access
What to Bring:
Participants should wear comfortable clothes & footwear as lots of walking will be involved. It is also recommended to stay sun safe & to wear sunscreen & a hat. Participants should also ensure to stay hydrated & to bring a bottle of water. Please check the weather ahead of time to determine if extra warm clothing or umbrellas, etc are needed. Participants are welcome to bring their own food & snacks but Peer Me Up will provide snacks for participants. It is recommended for participants to bring their own device with the app Pokémon Go downloaded, but if participants do not have their own they may share with their Peer.
COVID-19
The activity is predominately outside but please bring a mask as this will be required in Peer Me Up as well as any other retail/hospitality venues.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to anyone or any areas associated with COVID-19 in the past fourteen days, please stay COVID safe & stay home.
